Craig Biggio record 3,000th Hit:

On this day in 2007, In a game against the Rockies at Minute Maid Park, Craig Biggio of the Astros entered the game with 2,997 Hits, three away from the magical 3,000. Leading off in the bottom of the first, he grounded out. His next at-bat in the bottom of the third, Biggio singled to left-center field for #2,998. In his third at-bat, Biggio grounded to third, and a wild throw resulted in Biggio being credited with a hit, which put him at #2,999. Then in the bottom of the seventh inning, with a runner on second and one out, Biggio hit a line drive to center field, scoring the runner on second, he would then be tagged out at second trying to stretch a single into a double, but at last, that was hit #3,000. The game stopped for ten minutes while the crowd, the team, Biggio’s family, and longtime teammate Jeff Bagwell came on the field to congratulate him.
Frank Thomas Hits HR #500:

On this day in 2008, in a game against the Twins at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Frank Thomas of the Blue Jays was in the bottom of the 1st inning. With two runners on, Frank Thomas went deep for his 500th career Home Run.
